Psychology Services
Sometimes daily life can feel challenging, but you don't have to navigate it alone.
At Brain Buddy, our psychologists work alongside you to understand your experiences, build on your strengths and provide personalised support for your emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing.
Psychology support can help you better understand your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, while building practical skills that strengthen your emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing for improving daily life.
Our psychologists provide a safe and supportive space to explore what’s important to you, recognise your strengths and work towards your individual goals using evidence-based strategies and supports.
We take the time to understand your experiences and tailor our approach to your needs, helping you build skills that promote greater independence, participation and quality of life.
Psychology support looks different for everyone. Our clinical and generalist psychologists work with NDIS participants of all ages, providing personalised support in person and online to strengthen emotional, cognitve and social wellbeing and support daily living.
We work with people with a diverse range of needs and abilities, including participants with psychosocial disability, intellectual disability, physical disability and Autism. Our approach is inclusive and neuro-affirming, recognising each person’s individual strengths, experiences and ways of engaging with the world.
Using evidence-based strategies and supports, our psychologists can help participants build emotional regulation, strengthen social and relationship skills, develop practical coping strategies and increase participation and independence across home, work and community settings.
Whether you’re looking to build new skills, strengthen wellbeing or work towards greater independence, we’ll shape support around your individual needs and the goals that matter to you.
Whatever brings you to Brain Buddy, we’ll take the time to understand your individual needs and work with you towards meaningful goals at a pace that feels right for you.
Your first appointment is about understanding your story, your goals and what you'd like to achieve through therapy.
We'll work with you to create a personalised approach that reflects your strengths, preferences and aspirations.
As support progresses, we'll regularly review your goals and celebrate the progress you're making along the way.
Do I need an NDIS plan to access psychology?
+No. Our psychology services are available to NDIS participants who are self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed (where appropriate funding is available). If you're unsure about your funding, our team is happy to help you understand your options.
How long are appointments?
+All NDIS appointments are 60 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged where needed and will be discussed with you beforehand to ensure the appointment suits your individual support needs.
Do you offer Telehealth?
+Yes. We offer secure Telehealth appointments for many of our services, giving you the flexibility to access support from the comfort of your home when appropriate.
Can family members be involved in therapy?
+Absolutely. With your consent, we encourage family members, carers and other important supports to be involved where appropriate. Working together can help create more consistent strategies and positive outcomes both during and outside of therapy sessions.
