Clear information to help you feel confident about accessing the supports you need.

Understanding the NDIS

Support built around your goals

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides eligible people with disability with funding to access reasonable and necessary supports that relate to their disability and help them work towards their individual goals.

Every NDIS plan is different. The supports you can access will depend on your individual goals, support needs, available funding and how your plan is managed.

Brain Buddy works with NDIS participants and their support networks to provide personalised, evidence-based supports that promote independence, build capacity and support meaningful participation in everyday life.

How Is Your NDIS Plan Managed? — Brain Buddy

How Is Your NDIS Plan Managed?

There are three main ways NDIS funding can be managed. Your plan may use one option or a combination of options — this affects how providers are paid and what we'll need before your supports begin.

Self-Managed

You manage your NDIS funding.

You — or your nominee — manage payments and financial records. Brain Buddy will generally invoice you directly, and you claim eligible expenses from your plan funding.

Plan-Managed

Your plan manager takes care of provider payments.

Brain Buddy sends eligible invoices to your nominated plan manager, who processes payment using the appropriate funding from your plan.

✓ Brain Buddy welcomes plan-managed participants

NDIA-Managed

The NDIA manages payments to your providers.

As a registered provider, Brain Buddy can support NDIA-managed participants for eligible services, submitting claims through the NDIS provider system following delivery.

What Brain Buddy Supports May Be Funded?

Depending on your individual plan, goals and available funding, Brain Buddy services may be accessed through relevant NDIS support categories.

Positive Behaviour Support

May be funded through relevant behaviour support or capacity-building categories where included and appropriate to the participant's plan.

Psychology

May be funded where psychological support relates to a participant's disability support needs, functional capacity and NDIS goals.

Early Childhood Intervention

May be accessed through applicable early childhood or capacity-building funding, depending on the child's plan and individual support needs.

!

Important: NDIS support categories, pricing arrangements, funding rules and claiming requirements can change. Having NDIS funding does not automatically mean a particular service will be funded. Please confirm available funding with your plan manager, Support Coordinator, NDIA contact or the Brain Buddy intake team before services begin.
