ABOUT US

Every journey is different.
Your support should be too.

We believe meaningful support begins with understanding the person behind every experience. That means creating a space where you feel heard, respected and comfortable being yourself. With genuine care, professional expertise and an open mind, we’re here to support positive change in a way that feels right for you.

Our Story

Founded 2025 · Melbourne, VIC

Brain Buddy was founded with a simple belief — everyone deserves access to compassionate, evidence-based support that respects who they are and helps them live the life they choose.

Founded in 2025 and led by Clinical Psychologist and Behaviour Support Practitioner Dr Tania Pietrzak, Brain Buddy brings together a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing Positive Behaviour Support, Psychology and Early Childhood Supports to NDIS participants and their families.

Our approach is centred around genuine collaboration. We take the time to understand each person's goals, strengths and individual circumstances before developing supports that are practical, personalised and meaningful.

Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, we work with participants, families, schools, support coordinators and other professionals to create consistent, coordinated care that supports long-term success.

What We Believe

At Brain Buddy, we believe the best outcomes happen when people feel heard, respected and actively involved in their own journey. We don't focus on what's wrong. Every recommendation, strategy and therapy plan is built around your unique strengths and aspirations.

From there, we shape recommendations, strategies and supports around your individual strengths and goals, empowering you to be an active part of your journey.

Our approach starts by asking

Your journey. Your goals.
What matters most to you?
What's already working well?
What would you like to achieve?
How can we best support you?
Our Approach — Brain Buddy

Our Approach

Every person's journey is different. Our approach combines personalised care, evidence-based practice and genuine partnership to provide support that respects who you are and helps you work towards what matters most.

Person-centred

Your strengths, goals and experiences are at the heart of your support. We listen, understand what matters to you and tailor our approach around your individual needs.

Evidence-based

Our team draws on proven therapeutic approaches and professional expertise to provide high-quality support that is practical, responsive and tailored to you.

Connected & Inclusive

Meaningful outcomes are built together. We work collaboratively with families, carers, schools, Support Coordinators, support workers and other implementing providers to create consistent, connected support, that respects each person's identity and lived experiences.

Individualised, evidence-based care

We tailor support to each person's unique strengths, experiences and goals, drawing on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Our focus is on providing care that is practical, meaningful and responsive to individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all model.

Working together for better outcomes

We believe the best outcomes come from collaboration. That's why we work closely with participants, families, carers, schools, Support Coordinators, support workers and other implementing professionals to ensure care is coordinated and consistent across everyday environments.

Inclusive and culturally responsive care

We are committed to providing inclusive, culturally responsive support where everyone feels welcomed, heard and respected. We offer services in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and German, with admin support also available in Hindi, Mandarin and Cantonese. Interpreter services are available at our Dandenong clinic, and AUSLAN interpreters can be arranged for NDIS participants.

Safe, affirming and understanding support

Our practice is grounded in trauma-informed, neuro-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care, recognising and respecting each person's identity, lived experience and strengths. We aim to create a warm and supportive environment where participants and families feel safe, valued and understood.

Flexible and accessible support

We understand the importance of making support fit into everyday life. Flexible after-school and after-work appointments are available, and our practice is wheelchair accessible, helping to ensure our services are as inclusive and accessible as possible.

More ways to learn, connect and grow

Alongside individual support, we offer specialised programs designed to build knowledge, confidence and practical skills. These include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) groups, therapeutic group programs, and training and workshops for teachers, schools and other organisations.
